Mid-winter gives us the best chance to see birds when we’re out on our beautiful coastline. Thousands migrate to the haven of the Solent, travelling hundreds of miles from the harsh winters of the Arctic.

Bird Aware Solent photography competition

Celebrate the natural beauty of the Solent coastline, its wildlife and its amazing coastal birds by entering this year’s Bird Aware Solent Photography Competition.

 

Winning entrants in each category will get some great prizes and the chance of featuring in an exhibition of the pick of the crop this summer. Closing date: 28 February.

Why not join our friendly rangers on one of our free guided birdwatching walks? You don't need to know anything about birds: our rangers will help you spot and identify species like dark-bellied brent geese, wigeons, dunlins, oystercatchers, black-tailed godwits, turnstones and curlews.

 

The events are free but booking is essential.
